V0.9.3 Projects & Discover Accuracy

Lucid 0.9.3 renames Workspaces to Projects, materially improves topic and region accuracy in Discover, and makes surfaces say when something could not be loaded instead of showing you an empty page.

Features ✅

  • Projects: What was called a Workspace is now a Project, everywhere in Lucid. Nothing has moved and nothing needs re-creating — only the wording changed, and automatically-named personal workspaces are renamed for you.
  • Analysed coverage loading in Discover: Latest Coverage now explains what Lucid is doing while it works. It covers the full, constantly changing article feed rather than a story cluster that has already been prepared, so it can take longer than Topic Stories — and while it loads it says so, adding a short line about reviewing sources, context and framing if the wait continues.
  • Honest status when something cannot be read: Across Library, Outcomes and platform status, Lucid now distinguishes "there is nothing here" from "this could not be loaded", and offers you a retry rather than an empty page.

Improvements 🧱

  • Improved topic and region accuracy in Discover: Stories were previously mislabelled when a keyword appeared inside an unrelated word, or deep in an article body — a diplomacy story could be filed as economy, a cricket story as conflict. Headlines now carry more weight than article bodies, and a story's region is judged from the story itself rather than inferred from where it was published.
  • Improved topic variety on a busy news day: Coverage is no longer trimmed to a fixed number of stories per topic. Over-concentration is still discouraged, but a genuinely dominant story is not cut off at an arbitrary count.
  • Improved Assistant reliability: Modes stay available through a brief backend problem instead of disappearing from the selector, and a background error no longer changes the mode you had selected.
  • Improved Assistant transparency: Thoughts now shows the model's actual reasoning, or nothing at all. Previously, when a model returned no reasoning, Lucid displayed a list of its own internal steps in its place. Shared conversations no longer include reasoning text.
  • Improved Discover navigation: Discover now opens on Topic Stories by default, and story cards carry a more compact timestamp so more of each card is given to the story.
  • Improved homepage load speed: More of the public homepage now loads only when it is needed, so first-time visitors see the page sooner.
  • Improved layout on smaller screens: The Discover tab navigation and the query composer both size correctly on narrow screens.

Fixes 🔧

  • Fixed pages reporting emptiness when they had simply failed to load. Your Library, saved collections and Outcomes now say a view could not be loaded — and that nothing has been removed.
  • Fixed the platform status page reporting "All systems operational" when it could not read the system checks. It now says status is unavailable and makes no availability claim until the checks can be verified.
  • Fixed continuing a saved request being treated as having nothing to continue when the lookup itself failed, which sent people to start over unnecessarily.
  • Fixed a "Create an account" button appearing beside a verification step that had nothing to retry.
  • Fixed Deep research disappearing for signed-out visitors instead of showing as an account-only option.
  • Fixed inconsistent sign-in and create-account button colours across the header, the hero and the guest sidebar.
  • Fixed the Discover tab navigation sitting underneath the mobile menu button.
  • Fixed dataset panels that could fail to load when a source reported an unfamiliar status.
  • Fixed narrative analysis messages appearing on articles when narrative highlighting was turned off.
  • Fixed search allowance wording that could name the wrong renewal period on the public preview.
