Lucid now integrates GDELT Global Events, adding a new layer of structured event intelligence to help detect developments emerging across the wider information environment.

GDELT produces structured event observations from global news reporting. Lucid now processes an Australia-relevant subset of those observations into its intelligence layer, giving Assistant and Signals another way to identify emerging activity beyond conventional article search.

The first production corpus contained nearly 20,000 Australia-relevant event observations, with the dataset refreshed hourly.

What’s new

  • GDELT Global Events (Beta) added as a structured dataset
  • Australia-relevant events added to Lucid’s intelligence layer
  • Available across Assistant and Signals
  • Original source links and provenance preserved
  • Refreshed hourly
  • Designed to complement Lucid News and official Australian datasets

This gives Lucid another perspective on what is changing across organisations, places and events, while keeping the underlying evidence inspectable.

GDELT complements Lucid’s existing news and Australian regulatory datasets rather than replacing them. A detected event can provide an early signal, while other sources help establish what actually happened and why it matters.

More signal. Same emphasis on provenance.
